Arenas is located in autonomous community of Andalusia Southern Spain. It lies in the hills above Velez Malaga at an altitude of 415 meters. The neighbouring countryside contains olives, almonds and vines.

It is situated in the comarca of Axarquia and is located 12 kilometers from Velez – Malaga , 50 km from Malaga. Located northwest of the Axarquia, between the sierras of Tejeda and Almijara and the Castle of Bentomiz.

Shopping: In the village you will find small supermarkets for your daily needs. 15 minute drive to the town on Velez- Malaga there are various shops offering a variety of goods, but we recommend you take part in the Thursday market where you can buy fresh products.
Public transport: Daily buses down to the town of Velez Malaga or the option of taxi.

centre.
Annual events : The Mule Fair, which is held on October 12th to honour this equine species; and the Festival in honour of Saint Catherine and Saint Sebastian, which takes place on August 10th and 12th. In Arenas, the Candelaria is also traditionally celebrated in September and the Carnivals in February.
